“We are thrilled to welcome Current and the Water Foundry as new partners in the Israel – U.S. Water Initiative,” said Gili Elkin, General Partner at the Israel – Colorado Innovation Fund. “We’ll work with Current and the Water Foundry and their strong utility, industrial and investor networks – as well as their strong ties to the Israeli cleantech community – to help innovative Israeli technologies gain market traction and financing opportunities in the U.S.”
The Israel – U.S. Water Initiative advances the water innovation ecosystem in Israel by connecting U.S. entities with Israeli water technologies. The Initiative is supported by the Israel Ministry of Economy, the Israel Innovation Authority and the Israel National Water Authority as part of the Israeli government’s effort to help other countries adopt technologies that improve the stewardship of water resources.
Water Foundry was founded by Will Sarni, a global thought leader in water strategy and innovation and strategic advisor at Current. Water Foundry advises multinationals and water technology companies and invests in digital water technologies. “Israel is a leader in water and wastewater technology due to its innovation in public policy and culture of innovation,” said Sarni. “Water Foundry is eager to partner with the Israel – U.S. Water Initiative and help commercialize innovative Israeli water tech.”
Current is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of its members to source, de-risk, and scale innovative water tech, financing and business model solutions through a tech-to-market platform – from R&D to commercialization – that bridges structural gaps that hinder innovation.
“By working with the Israel – US Water Initiative and Water Foundry, Current can strengthen our relationships with cutting-edge Israeli technologies and bring new solutions to utility and industrial end-users as well as investors,” said Current’s Executive Director Steve Frenkel. “Current’s strategic partnership with Israeli innovators is vital to supporting our mission to deliver advanced research and market-driven innovations.”
Current, Water Foundry and the Israel – U.S. Water Initiative make this announcement WEFTEC, WEF’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference. Taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana, WEFTEC brings together water professionals from around the world to learn, connect, and explore new, regenerative ways to shape the future water.
